About
Acousticoat
Acousticoat is a spray on interior coating that can be
applied through spray to help reduce sound projections.
Applied in a 2 step process. This entails a “Resilient” base coat which is then layered by a “mass building” finish coat. The
thicker layers of paint help in the dispersion of sound and aid in the prevention of sound penetration. The top coat itself can
be painted, papered or covered in whichever style wall cover you choose.
The Acousticoat 2 step system can be applied to any existing surface or implemented at the building and construction
phase. By utilizing a single person application process Acousticoat can save money on labour and other sound dampening
products. Possible applications include, stairwells, hotels, flat/ apartment blocks, hospitals, offices, shopping centres and
entertainment centres in both the home and commercial.
With the Acousticoat 2-coat process, mid range sounds become contained. Common noise is greatly reduced. We have
reached an industry high – even the test labs were a buzz. To date, no other sound reduction solution can deliver with the
consistency of Acousticoat. Manufactured at the same high quality as major paint manufacturers.
Our patent-pending Acousticoat resilient layer (Base Coat) is scientifically formulated to increase the STC rating of a
room/partition by 3-7 points depending on the room construction and application methods. The Base Coat forms nano
membranes that create sound absorbing and sound deflecting barriers. Our Finish Coat has the same sound deflecting
formula to complete the sound reduction system.
Acousticoat sound reduction system is applied using a 2-step application process of 2 layers of “resilient” Base Coat
followed by 2 layers of “mass building” Finish Coat to reach an ideal thickness of 25-35mm. We recommend only those
with airless spray application experience or a professional coating specialist, attempt to apply this product.
An airless sprayer with a 317 tips and 1,800 to 2,400 psi is recommended. Be sure to clean the sprayer using soap and
water within 30 minutes (after last use) or the material will begin to set inside the sprayer.
Professional sound dampening with an easy spray application.
Clean all equipment using warm water and soap within 30 minutes after application. Failure to clean immediately may allow the coating material to cure inside the sprayer.
